Top 5 Cuneyt Cakir Red Card Conspiracies by Bryan Medina
  1. Cuneyt Cakir(36) is a Turkish UEFA soccer referee and he's the name on everyone's lips after sending Nani off in United's Champions League match against Real Madrid. He made his UEFA debut in 2003 as a fourth official in a Champions League qualifying round game but he had experience in the Super Lig of Turkey before that.

Cakir is an insurance salesman in Turkey during the week, which raises questions about his professionalism but surely, somebody who has been doing this since before 1996 should be experienced enough to leave the troubles of one job aside, to fully focus on the other. This is not the first time that this referee has concerned the fans or even managers, as Mourinho had forewarned that he had troubles with this referee in previous games.

Cuneyt Cakir has been the main official in over 170 matches, which include very important encounters like the 2012 Champions League semifinal where Barcelona fell to Chelsea, the Euro 2012 semifinal where Portugal lost to Spain, and the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup final where Corinthians defeated Chelsea. In these and other matches of his career, Cuneyt Cakir has handed out roughly 292 yellow cards and 15 red cards.
