Dembakwi Yomba is an U-18 USMNT forward that has just signed a contract with one of La Liga's biggest clubs Atletico Madrid. Yomba does not legally become an adult until September 4th but he's already experiencing a life-changing moment in his professional soccer career.
Despite being born in Sierra Leone, Yomba is a US citizen and a resident of Georgia, where he was labeled as one of the top-rated Class of 2015 High School players in the United States. The Sierra Leone native was listed as a commitment to the University of North Carolina but playing for Diego Simeone's club is something you don't let pass you by.
Yomba has already played for the U-17 USMNT squad and was called up to the U-18 National Team alongside Andrija Novakovich, another US youth member that has recently been recruited by Championship side Reading. Both players are American prodigies at the moment and are potential stars of the senior team sooner or later.
Yomba's signing has yet to be made official by Atletico Madrid or by his former academy, Concorde Fire.
However, the 17-year-old posted several pictures on his Twitter account of himself at the Vicente Calderon, including one at the moment of his contract signing.
