Radamel Falcao Ruled out of Colombia's Final Squad for World Cup
Colombian striker Radamel Falcao did not appear in the national team's final list released today. Falcao has been injured since January with ligament damage, when he suffered a tackle during the French Cup match versus Monts d'Or Azergues.
The 28-year-old striker from AS Monaco was part of the preliminary 30-man list of head coach Jose Pekerman and so he remained day-in and day-out training trying to be fit and ready to represent his country. But Pekerman decided on Monday not to include the man on whose shoulders an entire nation had its hopes, according to Colombia FA's website.
Falcao scored nine times in 13 matches during the South American qualifiers for this year's World Cup.
Other cuts from Colombia
Luis Amaranto Perea and Luis Fernando Muriel also did not make the cut and will have to watch the World Cup from away in Colombia.
