It appears that Germany will be without central defender Mats Hummels for today's clash with Algeria. The defender is apparently ill, and won't be able to take the pitch today.
German trainer Loew will likely slide Jerome Boateng into the middle, and bring on the young back Mustafi in place of Hummels. This decision isn't without controversy, however, considering that Mustafi has been anything but stellar this tournament. This will be pleasant news to the ears of the Algerians, who are hoping to nick the Germans today and meet France in the last 8.
This will also be the first game that Germany will not be fielding four center backs in the back line from the start.
