Xolos vs Jaguares

Club Tijuana got their first win of the Apertura 2014 season on Friday night by defeating Chiapas FC 2-1 at the Estadio Caliente. A double by Argentine striker Dario Benedetto lead the Xolos to victory in their Week Five match.

Benedetto got things started early in the sixth minute by chipping the goalkeeper to open the scoring.

Things got a little heated on the sidelines as Xolos and Chiapas managers Cesar Farias and Sergio Bueno had some words midway through the first half.

The problem between the two managers continued, and both faced off once again at the halftime break. Referee Miguel Angel Ayala decided to send both managers off and they watched the rest of the game from the stand.

Chiapas FC pressured for an equalizing goal, but it was the hosts Tijuana Xolos who found the second in a counter attack that Dario Benedetto finished off.

In the 85th minute, Vicente Matias Vuoso headed the ball which barely crossed the line before goalkeeper Cirilo Saucedo was able to push it away. Chiapas were now on the board and give the visitors the slight hope of a comeback.

Xolos  now travel to Mexico City where they will face Pumas UNAM next Sunday in the Estadio C.U. while Chiapas will return home to host league leader Club America next Saturday
