Tigres UANL's left back Jorge Torres-Nilo became the third player dropped from the Mexican national team squad that will travel to the United States to face Chile and Bolivia in California and Colorado.

Following Tigres' 0-2 loss at home to Chiapas FC manager Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti mentioned in press conference that it might be a wise choice for national team manager Miguel Herrera to leave Torres-Nilo at home to recover from an injury.

On Monday morning it was made official that Club America left wing-back Miguel Layun would be called in to take Torres-Nilo's spot on the team. The Tigres defender joins Toluca goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera - who is also injured - and Chivas midfielder Carlos Salcido (retired) as the three platers who have been dropped from the call up list.
