Mexican Government Impounds Queretaro Training Facility

Querétaro 0-2 Toluca

The ongoing saga gets worse and worse for Liga MX club Queretaro. Its parent company "Oceanografia" was found guilty of defrauding the Mexican government by the PGR (equivalent to FBI). The PGR also suspects that owner Amado Yáñez and/or other high ranking executives used the football club to launder money

PGR is now seizing control of most (if not all) of Oceanografia's assets; which include the Mexican soccer team. Today the government agency showed up at the Queretaro training facility and began its occupation of it.

Club President Adolfo Rios confirmed today on ESPN Deportes and ESPN Deportes' radio show "Jorge Ramos y Su Banda" that government officials were indeed at the clubs's installations and that players had not been paid due to the fact that bank accounts had been canceled.

The Mexican Soccer Federation (FMF) as well as the league (LIGA Bancomer MX) have both remained quiet on the Queretaro issue. But day after day, the situation gets worse and worse for Queretaro; disaffiliation from Mexican soccer must now start to became a serious possibility in for league officials.
