Toluca Wins, Chiapas Rescues Point

Toluca FC began week 3 of the Clausura 2013 of Liga MX with a 2-1 victory over Leon FC at the Nou Camp on Friday. The red devils won their first game of the Clausura 2013. The panzas verdes on the other hand, remain winless in league play.
Edgar Benitez and Lucas Silva scored for the chorizeros. Matias Britos temporarily closed the gap in the first half.Both teams hit the pitch with the urgency of earning a victory. The visiting squad took control with a well ordered game. The home team demonstrated a cautious and nervous game. From the start the red devils made the more dangerous runs on goal. With only a few minutes of game on the board, Toluca made the first attack.
In the 17th minute Carlos Esquivel centered to the far post where Benitez arrived to head the ball. The Paraguayan headed the ball down to bounce it out of the reach of goalkeeper Christian Martinez. Toluca took the 1-0 lead.
Leon made a comeback before the break. In the 37th Britos closed the gap. Colombian Eisner Loboa centered to the Uruguayan who fired into the net to draw the game 1-1. The home squad slowly took control of the pitch, but lost the game when they lowered their guard.In the 77th Gerardo Rodriguez dropped the ball in the area and centered to an approaching Silva. The Brazilian ran in and kicked the ball to Martinez’ left post to put the final score at 2-1 in Toluca’s favor.

Jaguares spoils Monterrey’s victory
With 12 minutes left in regulation Jaguares de Chiapas FC managed to stage a comeback to earn their first point of the season. Colombian Franco Arizala came off the bench to close the gap as Jaguares drew 1-1 in week 3 of La Liga MX at the Victor Manuel Reyna stadium.
Aldo DeNigris opened the score in the 15th minute. A combination between DeNigris and Chilean Humberto “Chupete” Suazo gave the Rayados the lead. Suazo took the ball all the way into the penalty area. He passed back to DeNigris who closed the gap and fired past a diving goalkeeper for the 1-0.
Jaguares surprised the Regios with their goal. Arizala took the ball from outside the area. He broke past his marker and fired to the left angle giving Jaguares the 1-1. The Chiapanecos score their first goal of the season. Monterrey reaches four points in three games.
