México 0-0 Chile

In last Saturday's friendly match against the Chilean National team, Mexico received bad news in both front and back lines.

Villarreal forward Giovani dos Santos and Cruz Azul center back Francisco 'Maza' Rodriguez succumbed to injuries and will be missing the trip to Denver where Mexico will face Bolivia next week. Instead, they will be joining their clubs next Monday.

After the 0-0 tie against Chile, coach Miguel Herrera explained the situation of both players and disclosed the bad news to the media.

"Maza has a blow on his leg that was pretty intense, his muscle crammed  when he was on the field and we decided not to risk it." Said 'Piojo' about the Cruz Azul defender.

"Giovani's injury was bad luck. he felt a sting on that sprint he made towards goal and he had to stop"
-miguel herrera-

'Piojo' also commented on the uncertainty of the extent of Giovani's injury until further analysis. Dos Santos will undergo some tests in Spain when he returns to his club in the city of Valencia.
