Christoph Kramer has been ruled out of both Germany's Euro 2016 qualifier against minnows Gibraltar in Nuremberg on Friday and Tuesday's friendly away to Spain with a back injury.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder, who was part of the Germany's World Cup-winning squad in Brazil, left the team hotel on Friday and will be treated by his club Borussia Moenchengladbach, the German Football Association confirmed.

Germany are third in their Euro 2016 qualifying group after suffering a shock 2-0 defeat to Poland last month and conceding a last-minute equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Ireland to leave them three points adrift of the Polish group leaders.
