Reports in England claim that striker Bafetimbi Gomis is to hold talks with Premier League side Swansea.  The soon to be out of contract forward, currently with Lyon, is available on a free transfer and has been long linked with a move to Newcastle. However it would not appear that his final destination could be Wales with Sky Sports reporting that the player is set to arrive for talks on Monday.  The player will discuss terms chairman Huw Jenkins and the club’s manager Garry Monk and if those talks prove fruitful he become the club’s first signing of the summer. 


The 12 times capped France international, missed out on a place in Didier Deschamp’s world cup squad despite scoring 22 goals in 49 appearances in all competitions for Lyon last season. The 28 year old began his professional career with St. Etienne before moving to Lyon in 2009.  Any signing of Gomis would put the future of Wilfried Bony in the spotlight.  The Ivory Coast star has been linked with a move to Arsenal after a stunning second half to the season although the player’s agent has said he will only move if a suitable offer comes from a top six side in one of Europe’s top leagues.  Bony’s striker partner from last season, Michu has also been linked with a summer exit with West Ham and Stoke both reportedly keen.
