With Seattle Sounders FC defender DeAndre Yedlin not at today's practice, head coach Sigi Schmid deflected any questions to GM/owner Adrian Hanauer.
Seattle's right back made a splash with his performances with the USMNT in Brazil that accelerated rumors of his signing with a European club. AS Roma and Tottenham have been mentioned as two of the suitors.
Hanauer held court with the media and confirmed Yedlin was in Europe.
"DeAndre is overseas. He's visiting with a big club in Europe. We're working towards a potential transaction."
The deal is close, but the Sounders are holding off on a formal announcement.
"We would announce anything in it's entirety, if and when it comes to fruition," Hanauer said.
He went on to mention that Yedlin would be back in time for Sunday's matchup against the Houston Dynamo and finish out the season as a Sounder.
