On loan Florentina midfielder Anderson was asked Thursday afternoon one of the most bizarre questions an athlete has ever received at a press conference.

The Manchester United property, who is with the Serie A club on a six month loan deal, was asked in his first session with the Florence media if he was gay. Shocked by the question, the Brazilian gave a cordial but firm reply, even admitting that he doesn't have a television in his home.

“I've much respect for gay people, I've absolutely nothing against them," he said. "But I like women. I've four children in my house & no TV!”

Although no other question in the press conference raised as much eyebrows as that one, Anderson did express how excited he was to be apart of manager Vincenzo Montella's squad.

“I’m pleased to be a part of Fiorentina, a club that is fighting to be one of the top teams in Europe,” he said. "I’m here to convince people and to stay for the long term. I like Montella, he has immediately put faith in me and I want to repay him on the pitch."

The former Porto man even said that he would stick himself into the net if he was required to do so.

"My favorite position? I’ll even play in goal if they ask me," he said. "I’ll do whatever Montella wants."
