According to Italian sports daily Corriere dello Sport Napoli are prepared to Splash the Cash on new signings in January in order to make a serious challenge for the Serie A title. Now that they are no longer involved in the Champions League despite their 2-0 win over Arsenal at the San Paolo earlier in the week the Neapolitans are nos concentrating on domestic soccer and think that the signing of Tottenham's Erik Lamela and Manchester City's Aleksandar Kolarov could help them win the italian title.
Since moving to White Heart Lane from AS Roma during the summer for a club record fee of $45 million the young Argentine has found it hard to adapt to the Premiership and has only featured four times for Spurs. Serbian international Aleksandar Kolarov is having similar trouble getting into the starting team for Manchester City with Gael Clichy the preferred choice at left back in Manuel Pellegrini's team.
Both men made a name for themselves in the Italian Serie A and Napoli manager Rafa Benítez is hoping that a move back to where they were stars could convince them to return to Italy. Kolarov is certainly a possibility at 28-years-old, but Tottenham won't be eager to lose on the 21-year-old Lamela, wich means Napoli will have to pay the full asking price for the talented midfielder if they are to have any chance of signing him.
