2014: Tesho Akindele – FC Dallas

It was a solid week of action for members of Group E. While Switzerland's Ricardo Rodriguez continues to extend his scoring streak, France was able to witness two excellent overall performances by Karim Benzema, Olivier Giroud and Antoine Griezmann in their respective English and Spanish teams. Meanwhile, Honduran Andy Najar got a surprising first team start and Victor Bernardez continues his preparation for the start of this year's MLS Cup new season.

Valentin Stocker:The 24-year old midfielder was the hero for Basel this week, rescuing a 1-1 draw against Grasshoppers in the Swiss League. Six minutes after having gone down on the scoreboard, the Basel youth academy product equalized the match with a sensational scissor kick that helps Basel retain a three point lead atop the league table.

Stephan Lichtsteiner:  In what turned out to be a more complicated match than expected, the former Lazio man was full of energy, running up and down the right side of the field to assist in both his offensive and defensive duties. His stability on the right flank proved helpful for Juve’s tight 1-0 win against Torino.

Ricardo Rodriguez:  For the third consecutive week in a row, the rumored-to-be-Chelsea-target makes the list as one of Switzerland’s highlights. The defender continues scoring match after match, this time netting the rebound of his initial penalty shot, saved by Bernd Leno, for Wolfsburg’s 3-1 against Bayer Leverkusen.
