After a loan spell with English Premier League Norwich City, Kei Kamara made the full switch to Middlesbrough of the English Championship, the second division, for $1.4 million on the final day of the transfer window.

Sporting KC, as per league policies, will receive 2/3 of the transfer fee in allocation money.

Famous in Kansas City for his spur of the moment, Chipotle parties at his favorite local burrito joint, Kamara enjoyed a successful time at Sporting KC, playing part in the club's revolution from city wide afterthought to regional sports favorite.

Kamara, a Sierra Leone international, has earned one championship in his professional career, the 2012 US Open Cup with Sporting Kansas City. As for individual awards he was voted Sierra Leone Player of the Year in 2012.

In 2011 I sat down and spoke to Kamara about his contributions to his international team and in his country. We chatted about leaving at age 19 from Civil War torn Sierra Leone. Sporting KC will miss his skills and the fan base will hope that Peter Vermes has someone in mind to sign to fill the gap.

Sporting KC were looking for a win after two successive losses in MLS play and got just what they intended in facing New England Revolution as they thoroughly whipped the Revs 3-0 in front of a sold out crowd of 19,988 at Sporting Park.

A SKC lineup that was devoid of top player Graham Zusi was able to take on the visitors and continue their domination of their Eastern Conference adversaries as Kei Kamara scored a brace before going off injured and Benny Feilhaber scored from a free-kick.

After an excellent loan spell at English Premier League side Norwich City, the Sierra Leone international forward Kei Kamara is returning to Sporting Kansas City, for the time being at least.

Word came in mid January that Kamara was the target of Norwich, just after Sporting KC had made acquisitions with the expectation that Kei would have a big role to play for the upcoming Major League Soccer season, but that time has passed and Sporting KC finds themselves in a three way tie for the lead in the Eastern Conference all the while playing excellent defense and creating goals.

Now reinforcements have arrived in Kamara who led the club in goals scored the last two seasons. If a kiss by club captain Jimmy Nielsen during the welcome back press conference is anything to judge, by then the club will thrive off the energy that he will bring to the pitch. With Seattle on Wednesday and a road fixture at Houston on Sunday, Kamara will have the opportunity to bring his energy that made him a fan favorite both in Kansas City and Norwich. His return makes Kansas fans wonder how much more dangerous the Sporting attack will become.
